Cycling through Bhutan is a rare and exhilarating experience — winding mountain roads, almost no traffic, prayer flags fluttering overhead, and river valleys opening to great Himalayan views. Our Road Cycling tours range from gentle valley rides to multi-day cross-country journeys from Paro to Trashigang. High-quality bikes, helmets, and a support vehicle are provided throughout.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Paro — Bike Fitting & Orientation Ride
Meet guides, fit helmets and bikes, short 15 km orientation loop around Paro valley floor.

Day 2: Paro Valley Loop — 45 km
Easy cycling through paddy fields, chortens, and village roads to the base of Drukgyel Dzong and back.

Day 3: Paro to Thimphu — 65 km
Mostly flat valley road following the Paro Chhu river into the capital. Optional dzong stop mid-route.

Day 4: Thimphu Rest Day — City Highlights by Bike
Urban cycle tour visiting Memorial Chorten, Tashichho Dzong, and the weekend market.

Day 5: Thimphu to Dochula Pass — 30 km Climb
Challenging ascent to 3,100 m. Stunning 360° Himalayan panorama at the top; support vehicle on standby.

Day 6: Dochula to Punakha — 25 km Descent
Thrilling descent through rhododendron forest into the warm Punakha valley.

Day 7: Punakha Valley Ride & Cultural Visit
Morning ride along Mo Chhu river; afternoon visit Punakha Dzong and suspension bridge.

Day 8: Return to Paro — Departure
Support vehicle transfer. Final debrief and departure.
